Kevin Benderman spends his days sitting in a plastic chair in the stockade at Fort Lewis, Wash., completing a 15-month sentence for ``missing movement'' with his unit. Jeremy Hinzman is raising his baby boy in Toronto, awaiting a court date when he hopes the Canadian government will grant him political asylum. Aidan Delgado is back in school, studying religion at the New College of Florida and practicing Buddhism.
from James Cook:
Once again the Cooks of ** Knowlton Square in Gloucester will be hosting a
round the world New Year's Eve party. Bring music. Bring instruments. Bring
food. Bring drink. Most importantly bring yourself & bring friends. I don't
have an email address for everyone I would like to attend, nor do I know the
kool people that you know. Bring 'em. The festivities begin early & end late
(or perhaps they end early depending on how you view such things). Come in
the afternoon. Come later on. Come & go.
Come & go & come back again. Come & go by train.
Gloucester's commuter rail station is three blocks away. A
schedule is available at mbta.com. Come & go by designated driver. (Read
that last sentence twice or more often. It's meaning both explicit &
implicit should be clear. If it is not I'll gloss it. Don't consume alcohol
& then attempt to operate a moving vehicle (or heavy machinery for that
matter). I know I'm pedantic. I'm a teacher.) If you're interested in coming
& don't know how to get here (by car or train) give a ring 978 *** ****. You
needn't respond to this email if responding is not your thing, but we do
like to look forward to you coming so call or send a note if that *is* your
sort of thing. Amanda reminds me to add:
Kids're welcome. Abby reminds me to add:
"hehehehehe eh eh eh eh eh yeeeigh".
I'm not sure what that means but perhaps you do.
Hope to see you Saturday.
best wishes,
James

I am probably only one of a few people who ate baked tofu and udon noodles for xmas eve dinner.
My cat, on the other hand, does not like her fancy gourmet organic paul neuman's cat food. That's right, not only does paul do mcdonalds coffee but he also does cat food. Cat food that is overly expensive. Cat food that my cat just stares at.
Over all, I would have preferred eating Vietnamese food and going to the movies.

Go! I will be playing short videos as well as reading.
If I have to hear Coldplay or the Charlie Brown Christmas CD again
I am going to scream.
And you will hear me bc it will be loud
and it will be the most distinctive sound you've ever heard.
It will not be pleasant. You will need ear plugs.
I'm warning you in advance.
POETRY READINGS NOW BANNED IN BOSTON (CLS) Friday, December 9, 2005
If one is banned in Boston, Houston, we may have a problem.
People no longer want to hear about a profession named “poet.” Call them instead: teachers, editors, owners, property ruling class, professors, retail workers, generic office workers, single owner businesses, technical support assistants, etc…
Poet as profession? Was it ever your goal in life to teach in a mfa program? It seems the case in many BU, BC, EC, HU, MIT, NE, Brandeis, Tufts, and alumni. I find that all these universities do not only NOT contribute to the community but suck air from it. This has not been the case with NYC, Philly, Providence RI, SF, some back stock items … the inhospitable environment for experimental savant garde innovative poetry has a broken foot to stand on in Boston. “I did not coin the phrase – ‘ provincial backwater,’ –" said Christina Strong, a resident of the Boston area for almost four years, “but I do propagate it. If you are interested in brahmin culture, this is it. It is as boring as a job as cash changer at the till."
Boston as bean baked? Poetry fried to a crisp? Or do you like it easy to swallow? THERE IS A GAG ORDER IN EFFECT!
Other parties involved were asked to contribute, but were only to contribute a sad few bunch of names. Or opt-d out of program. They cited “stylistic differences.”
Christina Strong's next book will be out on so and so press, or on back channel press or your clique or no clique press
